The 'Golden Dome' project, inspired by Israel's 'Iron Dome', aims to protect US territory with a four-layered missile defense system. It includes three ground-based components, located in California, Alaska and the Great Lakes, and a space-based component to detect threats. Equipment will include advanced technologies such as PATRIOT and THAAD systems, radars and lasers. Congress has already appropriated $25 billion, with plans to allocate an additional $45 billion by 2026. General Michael Guetlein will present an implementation plan by February 15, 2026.
