Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein's accomplice, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for conspiracy in the abuse of minors. During a virtual hearing, her lawyer sent a message to President Donald Trump, suggesting that if she is granted clemency, Maxwell will provide details that could exonerate both Trump and former President Bill Clinton from any allegations related to the Epstein case.

This proposal has sparked controversy, and the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, James Comer, expressed disappointment at Maxwell's refusal to answer questions. Democratic members of the committee accused Maxwell of trying to obtain clemency through silence, and hearings for Clinton and his wife, Hillary, are scheduled for this month. This situation continues to keep the Epstein case a controversial political topic.
