The NATO alliance has announced that Germany will finance a $500 million package of military equipment and ammunition for Ukraine, underlining its commitment to defending the Russian-invaded country. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte welcomed the initiative, which joins similar contributions from the Netherlands and Nordic countries. The assistance packages will be coordinated through NATO headquarters in Germany, responding to operational needs identified by Ukraine.
