Katherina Reiche, the German Minister of Economy, stated that Germany will not win the race for the development of large language models (LLM), but has the potential to become an international leader in the field of industrial artificial intelligence (AI).

Reiche emphasized that, in terms of industrial AI, Germany is well positioned to play an important role internationally, due to the complex data generated by manufacturing processes. She mentioned that the European Union's Artificial Intelligence Act provides a favorable framework for the development of this sector.

Reiche highlighted the desire of companies to leverage these opportunities and stressed the importance of using AI to transform unstructured data into added value. The minister warned that Germany must not miss this crucial opportunity for its industrial future.
