Germany is facing an acute shortage of teachers, and the 'Lehrkräfte PLUS' program in Cologne aims to integrate immigrant teachers with pedagogical training. Among the participants is Inge Pizarro Krause from Chile, who teaches German language and pedagogy to adapt to the German educational system.

The program, which lasts for a year, offers practical experience and support for teachers from various countries, including Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan. Although the program has been successful, with high demand for enrollment, funding is limited until 2027. Participants emphasize the importance of support and mentoring for their integration. Examples like Natalia Zemlianskaia, a former participant who became a teacher in Germany, highlight the need for more similar initiatives to facilitate the integration of immigrant teachers and to meet the educational needs of the country.
