In Berlin, the first Joint Defense Center against Drones (GDAZ) was inaugurated, under the coordination of the Minister of the Interior, Alexander Dobrindt. This center aims to unite the competencies of police and military authorities to respond quickly and effectively to incidents involving drones, considering the increasing number of them near sensitive infrastructures. Dobrindt emphasized the importance of collaboration between the central government and the federal states to strengthen national security.

The center will conduct research and development activities to adapt to the latest technologies. Recently, a special unit of the federal police was also created, consisting of 130 employees, dedicated to detecting and intercepting threatening drones. The German government has observed an increase in drone incidents associated with destabilization intentions from Russia. Additionally, the opening of a research center and a parliamentary debate is anticipated to expand the military's competencies in this area.
