The poll, which also looked at opinions in Germany, the UK and Poland, found that 59% of Germans support the reintroduction of compulsory military service. This comes against a backdrop of increasingly tense transatlantic relations, with six out of ten French people believing Russia could invade other European countries in the coming years.
