Emmanuel Bonne, the head of the French presidential diplomatic cell, made a visit to Moscow on Tuesday, having meetings with Russian officials to discuss important topics, especially the situation in Ukraine.

Although the French presidency did not confirm the details of the visit, it emphasized that the discussions are taking place at a technical level, with transparency and in consultation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and key European partners. President Macron previously mentioned that Europeans should reopen direct dialogue with Vladimir Putin, in the event that American mediation efforts for a peace agreement in Ukraine are unsuccessful.
