The decision has been criticized by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who says recognition rewards terrorism. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also denounced Macron's plan as a move that hinders the peace process and favors Hamas propaganda. Trump commented that the statements carry no weight.
