In recent days, France and Spain have been the targets of false information regarding weather phenomena and climate change, which have circulated on social media, especially on platform X. These false news reports announced historic snowfall and blizzards in the Pyrenees, often accompanied by misleading images and videos, some of which are old or generated by artificial intelligence. The State Meteorological Agency of Spain (AEMET) rejected these claims, emphasizing that they have not reported any significant snowstorm. Additionally, the Ministry of Ecology in France debunked rumors of an extreme winter, calling for responsibility in the dissemination of information. La Chaîne Météo warned about the proliferation of fabricated weather content, which may seem convincing but is dangerous. Experts recommend using reliable information sources and verifying data to combat misinformation.
