These mountaineers became the first people to climb Everest without an acclimatization period, thanks to the use of Xenon gas, which saved them weeks of acclimatization at altitude. The expedition took less than five days, including the journey from London. Xenon gas, known for its anesthetic properties and acclimatization benefits, was inhaled before departure, and the climbers slept in special tents that simulate high-altitude conditions.
