Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has warned that a plan to build a "humanitarian city" in Gaza to relocate the Palestinian population could amount to ethnic cleansing. Defense Minister Israel Katz proposed moving ahead with the plan, but Olmert stressed that it would amount to a concentration camp. In response, Prime Minister Netanyahu's office denounced Olmert, who also criticized the Israeli army's actions. Criticism also came from the opposition, which accused the government of extreme fantasies in order to maintain its coalition.
