Cedric Lodge, 58 years old, former director of the morgue at Harvard Medical School, was sentenced to eight years in prison for his involvement in a network of organ and human remains trafficking. His wife, Denise Lodge, 65 years old, received a sentence of one and a half years for facilitating the sale of stolen organs.

Between 2018 and 2022, the two stole human remains, including organs and body parts, intended for medical research, without the consent of the donors or their families. Cedric Lodge transported these remains to his home in New Hampshire, where he sold them, and then shipped them to buyers in other states, profiting from these illegal activities. The sentencing was announced by the U.S. Department of Justice.
