A forest fire has broken out on the island of Hydra in Greece, started by a firework from a yacht.

The fire has engulfed the only pine forest on the island, in a place that is difficult to reach and without roads. The island's mayor has announced that the municipality will bring a civil action against those responsible for the fire. Greece has recently toughened penalties for arson, with perpetrators facing up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to €200,000.
