Authorities in the United Kingdom have issued a food alert after Danone decided to withdraw a batch of Aptamil First Infant Formula powdered milk, intended for infants, due to the identification of cereulide, a dangerous toxin. The affected product has an 800 g packaging, lot code 31-10-2026, and an expiration date of October 31, 2026. Cereulide, produced by strains of the Bacillus cereus bacteria, is resistant to high temperatures and can cause severe symptoms such as nausea and vomiting. Authorities recommend that parents do not give the product to infants and return it for a refund. In case of consumption, it is advised to consult a doctor.
