Conservative Brazilian Senator Flavio Bolsonaro and his family left Argentina for Ecuador on Wednesday, after leaving Brazil following his defeat in the presidential election. Argentine authorities confirmed that they were aboard a private plane bound for Guayaquil.
The son of far-right former President Jair Bolsonaro entered Argentina by land, carrying valid travel documents and encountering no legal obstacles, according to a statement from the National Directorate for Migration, published on the X platform.
Later, Flavio Bolsonaro and his family members boarded a private flight chartered by Baires Fly S.A. The aircraft took off from Argentina and was scheduled to arrive in the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador.
The departure came after reports emerged on Tuesday in some American publications claiming that the senator had fled to the United States. At the same time, President Donald Trump's administration announced that it would grant him a visa. Argentine authorities did not indicate the existence of any judicial restriction against Bolsonaro.
