On Thursday, a tourist vessel known as 'Toys Boat', with 115 people on board, caught fire in the Katrancı bay area, near Fethiye, a popular tourist destination in Turkey. The fire broke out during a trip, causing panic among the passengers, who were forced to put on life jackets and jump into the water.
Authorities responded quickly, and Coast Guard crews managed to evacuate 107 of the passengers, who were brought to safety on shore. 11 people were transported to the hospital due to smoke inhalation. The vessel suffered severe damage and began to sink.
The operator of the vessel confirmed that the passengers and crew are safe, and authorities have opened an investigation to determine the cause of the fire and the circumstances under which it broke out. Rescue operations and assessment of the passengers' condition continue.
