The fire broke out at the Kirishi refinery, one of the most important in Russia, after a Ukrainian drone attack. The governor of the Leningrad region stated that the fire was caused by the debris of a downed drone, and the authorities managed to extinguish the fire without recording any injuries. The refinery, which processes a large amount of oil, is targeted by Ukrainian attacks in an attempt to limit Russia's revenue from energy exports.
