The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies has launched an appeal to raise 40 million Swiss francs for humanitarian assistance in Iran.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) launched a call on Tuesday to raise 40 million Swiss francs (approximately 44 million euros) to support the humanitarian activities of the Iranian Red Crescent, in the context of increasing needs caused by the war between the USA and Israel. The funds will be used to help five million affected people in 30 provinces of Iran over the next 16 months.

IFRC emphasized that priority will be given to those directly affected by hostilities, damage to infrastructure, and disruption of basic services. The work of the Iranian Red Crescent is essential for saving lives, considering the deployment of over 2,100 response teams and 6,500 staff and volunteers. In the context of the conflict, the Israeli army has reported significant losses among Iranian soldiers, while non-governmental organizations estimate a large number of civilians killed.
