A ferry and a cargo ship collided off the coast of the island of Crete, causing significant deformations to the structure of both vessels. The incident occurred near the port of Chania, and the news station ERT News reported that no casualties were recorded. The ferry Elyros, which was carrying 100 passengers, 32 cars, and 95 trucks, was heading to Piraeus. Due to the impact, passengers were forced to remain on board for several hours, awaiting a technical inspection. Additionally, some vehicles in the ferry's hold were damaged due to the force of the collision. Authorities confirmed that the accident did not lead to marine pollution, and the cause of the collision will be investigated.
