Bulgaria has been facing a wave of false bomb threats in recent days, targeting airports, hospitals, bridges, schools, and media institutions, according to the publication Sega. The threats were sent via email to various destinations, including the airports in Sofia and Varna, the Metropolitan Hospital 'Saint Sofia', and the bridge at Ruse-Giurgiu.

The Sofia police have confirmed that they are investigating these signals, activating a specific action plan, although passengers have not been evacuated and the airport is operating with heightened security measures.

The threats began with schools and kindergartens, and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ivan Demerdjiev, stated that the messages were sent through a website hosted in Italy. The Cyber Crime Unit is investigating the case, but so far the authors have not been identified and no explosive devices have been found.
