A devastating attack with explosive devices took place on Saturday on the Pan-American highway, 35 kilometers from Popayan, in southwestern Colombia, resulting in the death of at least 14 people and injuring another 38.
According to a police source, responsibility for this attack has been attributed to dissidents from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). The governor of the Cauca region, Octavio Guzman, stated on the social media platform X that this incident is part of a series of criminal acts that have occurred throughout the province. Guzman emphasized that the region cannot face violence alone and called on the government to adopt effective measures in the face of escalating terrorism. He highlighted the need for immediate responses to address the serious crisis facing Cauca.
