An explosion occurred on Friday in the Netherlands, without causing injuries, and the material damage is limited, according to the ANP news agency. The Dutch police have opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the incident. So far, it is not known whether the explosion is related to the series of recent attacks targeting Jewish community sites in Europe, amid tensions arising from the war in the Middle East.
According to the Dutch newspaper Trouw, the Israel Center in Nijkerk was recently the target of a protest organized by pro-Palestinian groups. The center describes itself as a meeting point for Christians who sympathize with Israel, with the mission of promoting its welfare through prayer and action. A group called Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiya (HIYA), possibly linked to Iran, has claimed previous attacks on the Jewish community in Belgium and the Netherlands.
