The authorities in the Netherlands have arrested 34 people, including French, Belgian, and Algerian citizens, following a fatal incident in Overasselt, a village near the border with Germany.

The shooting occurred around 4 a.m., when a group of armed men attacked a house, resulting in the death of a 51-year-old man, who reportedly was a security guard.

The police intervened but were attacked, with two officers being injured. The incident is linked to the criminal activities of Dutch drug lord Jos Leijdekkers, known as Bolle Jos, who is one of the most wanted criminals in the Netherlands.

It is believed that the shooting was caused by a drug trafficking-related conflict. Prosecutors stated that the arrested group is international and that the charges include murder and conspiracy to commit kidnapping. The local mayor expressed the community's shock at the extreme violence.
