A surveillance camera in Tel Aviv captured the explosion of an Iranian rocket equipped with cluster munitions, which caused damage in several areas. During the attack, submunitions fell, and three citizens were lightly injured because they did not take shelter. The Israeli police emphasized the seriousness of the situation, warning that the incident could have had much more severe consequences.
Authorities reiterated their appeal to the population to follow shelter instructions during alarms. Cluster munitions are difficult to intercept, and defense systems do not always succeed in neutralizing all submunitions, which can lead to explosions in populated areas. Tensions in the region have recently increased following US and Israeli attacks on Iranian infrastructure.
