The European Commission's new strategy for the Black Sea includes setting up a maritime security hub to monitor critical infrastructure and an early warning system. It responds to geopolitical challenges and the need to strengthen security in the face of Russian threats. The strategy is based on three pillars: security and stability, sustainable growth and environmental protection. The EU will invest in upgrading regional infrastructure and developing energy corridors, while working with partners in the region such as Ukraine and Georgia.
