EU environment commissioner Jessika Roswall pointed out that 30% of Europe's land is facing water scarcity every year. The EU has unveiled a water security strategy with a target to reduce water withdrawals by 10% by 2030. The commission will promote digitization of the sector to detect leakages and work with the European Investment Bank on a new €15bn water management program. An initiative to fight PFAS pollution is also proposed.
