The Dutch government has announced that the European Union has sufficient reserves of aviation fuel for approximately five months, in the context of supply issues caused by the conflict with Iran.

Domestic production and existing reserves can provide the necessary kerosene for "a few months", while reserves of diesel and gasoline could last more than a year. The supply of kerosene has dropped to 78% of normal levels, with most imports being affected. Although there is no immediate crisis, prices have risen significantly, especially after the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

The Dutch government has activated the oil crisis plan, preparing a support package of approximately 1 billion euros for the transport sector and low-income households. In addition, the European aeronautics sector is working on the development of electric and hybrid aircraft, with the first commercial flights expected in the next five years.
