On July 24, the EU formally informed the Ukrainian government that it was suspending financial assistance because of a controversial law signed by President Zelenski, which subordinates anti-corruption agencies to the Prosecutor General. The move has led to the suspension of funding packages crucial to Ukraine's economic stability, including €18 billion from the Ukraine Facility and extraordinary loans. Although Ukraine has received some of the funds, the future of the financial assistance remains uncertain and the Ukrainian government has been warned of possible funding cuts.
