The European Union has launched an unprecedented plan to create essential stocks of water, food, fuel and medicines in response to security threats, particularly from Russia. The European Commission has stressed the importance of being prepared to handle major crises, including armed conflicts and cyber attacks, by 2030. The strategy includes creating a network of stocks between member states and recommending that every family have a 72-hour survival kit. This approach aims to build resilience in the face of growing geopolitical instabilities.
