The new law adopted by the European Union extends gas storage regulations until 2027, obliging member states to maintain 90% of capacity by December 1. Flexibility has been introduced to allow adaptation to market conditions, with a possibility to relax obligations in difficult situations. This measure aims to strengthen EU energy security in the context of geopolitical tensions and the energy crisis, while ensuring a balance between regulation and market principles.
