In Brussels, on June 10, the European Union and the Republic of Korea launched a new Partnership for Competitiveness and signed an Agreement on Digital Trade during the 11th bilateral summit. The partnership aims to strengthen cooperation in strategic areas such as trade, investment, digitalization, and innovation.

To implement this agenda, the establishment of a High-Level Economic Dialogue was agreed upon, which will deepen collaboration in economic security and trade policy. Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, emphasized the importance of this partnership for economic security and innovation.

The summit also included the expansion of cooperation in the field of security and defense, as well as the launch of a High-Level Dialogue on Energy, which will coordinate efforts in energy security and the transition to clean energy. Additionally, negotiations for the agreement on Passenger Name Records (PNR) were finalized, which will enhance cooperation in combating transnational crime.
