The Estonian government has announced the restriction of operations at the Luhamaa and Koidula border crossing points with Russia, starting from February 24, for a period of three months. These points will remain open during the day for 12 hours.

This measure comes as a result of what is considered irrational behavior by Russia at the border, according to Prime Minister Kristen Michal, who emphasized the need to allocate resources for more effective monitoring. Additionally, Interior Minister Igor Taro mentioned that the nighttime closure will allow for the deployment of personnel where it is most needed.
