<p>Manfred Weber, leader of the largest political group in the European Parliament, has stressed that the EU-Turkey partnership can only work on the basis of shared values. The warning comes in the wake of the arrest of Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, the main opponent of the Ankara leadership. Weber added that using justice as a political weapon is incompatible with European values.
