Elon Musk claims that he can build a city on the Moon in less than ten years

Elon Musk stated that SpaceX is focusing its efforts on building a "city with autonomous growth" on the Moon, estimating that this project could be completed in less than 10 years.

Although the Moon is the main priority for ensuring the future of civilization, Musk mentioned that SpaceX will also begin constructing a city on Mars in about 5-7 years. These comments come in the context of intense competition with China for lunar missions, aiming for an uncrewed lunar landing in March 2027. Musk also stated that he aims to send an uncrewed mission to Mars by the end of 2026.
