The European Investment Bank (EIB) will soon announce an agreement for an electricity interconnection between France and Spain, according to its president Nadia Calvino. This investment, decades overdue, will help the Iberian Peninsula to overcome its energy isolation and strengthen the European Union's energy system. Calvino underlined the importance of this initiative in the context of energy security and strategic autonomy, noting that the EIB finances 40% of Europe's energy infrastructure.
