The Supreme Court of Brazil has sentenced Eduardo Bolsonaro, the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro, to four years and two months in prison in absentia, after he requested American sanctions against Brazil during the trial for the coup planned by his father.

Eduardo, who lives in the United States, tried to obtain America's help for his father, who is serving 27 years in prison. The judges decided that his actions constitute a threat to the judicial authorities and government officials. Additionally, Eduardo will be banned from holding public office for eight years, a decision that can be contested. He stated that the trial aims to remove his name from the elections, considering that he was planning to run for the Senate.
