A 15-year-old teenager was killed by Dutch police in a McDonald's restaurant after threatening with a weapon during the theft of a bicycle.

The incident took place in Capelle aan den IJssel, where the boy stole a fatbike and threatened the owner with a weapon. After taking refuge in a McDonald's, he brandished the weapon again, and the police intervened, opening fire following an attempted escape. Witnesses described the scene as extremely shocking, with blood everywhere. The restaurant will remain closed until the investigation is completed, and the local community has begun to lay flowers in memory of the teenager.
