On the night of May 14 to 15, Ukrainian drones attacked a oil refinery in Ryazan, according to statements from Governor Pavel Malkov. The attack resulted in damage to two residential blocks and the death of three people, with twelve injured, including children.
Authorities responded quickly, providing assistance to those affected and organizing the evacuation of residents. The attacked refinery, owned by 'Rosneft', is one of the largest in Russia, with a capacity of 17 million tons of oil per year. It had previously been targeted by Ukrainian attacks, and since the beginning of spring, seven Russian refineries have suspended operations due to these attacks. As a result, the volume of oil processing in Russian refineries has dropped to its lowest level since 2009, and the government has tightened control over the gasoline market to manage the situation.
