Donald Trump has decided to grant clemency to five American football players (NFL), including Joe Klecko, Nate Newton, Jamal Lewis, Travis Henry, and the late Billy Cannon. This action was announced by the owner of the Cowboys team, Jerry Jones, who personally communicated the news to Newton. Klecko, at the age of 72, was convicted of fraud in 1993, while Newton, at 64, served a 30-month sentence for drug possession. Lewis, at 46, pleaded guilty to a drug-related offense, and Henry, at 47, was convicted of drug trafficking. Billy Cannon, posthumously pardoned, served a sentence for counterfeiting and was the winner of the Heisman Trophy in 1959.
