Russian attacks with rockets and drones on Kyiv. An Orthodox monastery and a residential block caught fire.

Ukraine was the scene of devastating Russian attacks on Monday, resulting in the death of at least nine people, including four in the capital Kyiv, where the bombings led to the fire of an Orthodox cathedral. The attacks occurred in the context of the stagnation of peace talks in the war between Russia and Ukraine, which has been ongoing since February 2022.

In Kyiv, airstrikes affected various areas of the city, injuring over 20 people. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported significant damage to the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God, a UNESCO site, with the incident condemned by the leader of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church as a crime against humanity.

In Kharkiv, five rescuers were killed while responding to fires caused by Russian bombings. Attacks were also reported in the cities of Dnipro and Sumy.

On the other hand, a Ukrainian drone attack on the city of Tula, Russia, resulted in the death of three people, including a child.
