The Danish Foreign Minister, Lars Lokke Rasmussen, and his Greenlandic counterpart, Vivian Motzfeldt, have requested a meeting with U.S. Vice President, JD Vance, at the White House, in the context of the escalating threats from Donald Trump to take control of Greenland.

Rasmussen stated that the discussions will take place after Trump made provocative comments, expressing his desire to reach an agreement with Greenland, but asserting that "we will have Greenland" one way or another. The Danish Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen, warned that such a takeover would lead to the end of NATO, while the Prime Minister of Greenland, Jens Frederik Nielsen, firmly rejected Trump's threats, emphasizing that Greenland is open to dialogue, but that discussions must respect international law.
