The US State Department has informed Switzerland that the delivery of Patriot air defense systems, ordered in 2022, will be delayed due to a review of priorities in support of Ukraine. Although the deliveries were planned between 2027 and 2028, it is now unclear how many systems will be affected or the impact on guided missile deliveries. The announcement also came as a surprise to European allies, as President Trump has said US arms deliveries to Ukraine will be funded by them.
