The Israeli army is investigating the incident, as 26 other people were killed in Gaza in the same days. Negotiations for a new ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas continue, mediated by the US, Qatar and Egypt, despite the difficulties and intransigence of the parties. The war began on October 7, 2023, following a Hamas attack that resulted in thousands of deaths and massive destruction in Gaza.
