Two people died in an explosion at a fireworks depot in Italy

Two people died on Wednesday following an explosion at a fireworks powder depot in a factory located in the province of Rieti, Italy, 70 km northeast of Rome.

The bodies of the victims were found under the rubble, according to a spokesperson for the firefighters, who did not provide details about their identities. According to the Italian press, one of the victims was an employee of the factory, while the other was a woman nearby at the time of the explosion. Two other employees survived, but no details about their condition are known.

This factory was also the scene of a deadly explosion in July 2023, when three people lost their lives.
