Dan Jørgensen, the European Commissioner for Energy and Housing, stated in Bucharest that it is essential for the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, to be prevented from using energy as a weapon against European states. During a meeting with energy ministers from 17 countries, Jørgensen emphasized the importance of solidarity towards Ukraine and announced the intention to propose an action plan for energy networks.

This plan will aim to improve interconnection and reduce energy prices, with the goal of ensuring a prosperous future for European citizens. The Commissioner stated that the European Union will no longer allow Russia to blackmail member states through energy and that better cooperation is needed to face current challenges.
