According to an assessment by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), over 100 countries have acquired cyber intrusion technologies, allowing them to attack private networks and companies in the United Kingdom.

The information was presented ahead of the CYBERUK conference in Glasgow, where British officials will highlight the increasing cyber threats. Cyber espionage technologies, such as Pegasus and Predator, have rapidly evolved and are being used to monitor journalists and dissidents. The NCSC has observed an expansion of targets, including bankers and company directors. The number of cyber attacks on the UK has doubled in a single year, with most attributed to state actors.

NCSC Director Richard Horne emphasized that firms that ignore cyber security do not understand the current reality. The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence contributes to these threats, and British authorities have contacted essential companies to warn them about emerging risks.

British Security Minister Dan Jarvis will call for active involvement from artificial intelligence companies in the country's cyber defense.
