Chris Lehane, OpenAI's global business director, stated in an interview with The Guardian that people and companies need to prepare for "ongoing and persistent" cyberattacks facilitated by advancements in Artificial Intelligence.

He emphasized that open-source models, especially those developed in China, pose a serious threat, having the capability to launch sophisticated attacks. Lehane urged the U.S. government to adopt strict legislation to ensure the safety of these technologies, including suspending the development of models that present significant risks. Criticism of AI companies has intensified, and experts warn that the rapid development of these systems could lead to catastrophic consequences.

Daniel Kokotajlo, a former OpenAI researcher, estimated a significant risk of human extinction due to the uncontrolled development of AI.

In the face of these challenges, OpenAI has suspended the training of advanced models to implement safety measures.
