More than 100 companies, including OpenAI, Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet, and others, have signed a letter calling for a rapid mobilization to strengthen cybersecurity. They warn that cyberattacks, facilitated by artificial intelligence, will become much more frequent in the coming months.
Among the signatories are also major names such as IBM, Visa, and General Motors. The letter emphasizes the importance of strengthening digital infrastructure before advanced AI models are exploited by attackers. Companies are urging governments to accelerate access for trusted organizations to powerful AI models to identify vulnerabilities and develop defense solutions. At the same time, it is recommended that cybersecurity become a priority for company leadership.
The warnings come against the backdrop of the already existing use of advanced language models by cybercriminals. The "Five Eyes" intelligence alliance recently highlighted that AI development will fundamentally transform the cybersecurity landscape. The signatories believe that the coming months are crucial for utilizing AI technologies both in attacks and in cybersecurity defense.
