The President of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, stated that his country has a "legitimate" right to respond to any aggression from the United States, in the context of rising tensions between Havana and Washington. In a post on the X platform, Diaz-Canel emphasized that Cuba is facing a multidimensional aggression from the U.S. and that it does not pose a threat to any nation. He warned that an American military attack would have devastating consequences, generating a "bloodbath" impacting regional stability.

His reaction comes amid reports of a possible acquisition of drones from Iran and Russia, which could be used against American interests. Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez asserted that Cuba defends peace and is prepared to face any external aggression, invoking the right to self-defense recognized by the UN Charter. Relations between the two countries are at an unprecedented level of tension, with threats of military actions from the U.S.
